As the tremendous growth in production of non-PVC transfusion bags, the previous secondary packaging line is out of date. A cheap and multifunctional proposal of transfusion bags' secondary packaging and its corresponding machinery is urgent to solve this problem. Case packing machinery is the bottleneck of the packaging line which is composed of case erecting, packing, sealing and palletizing. In this paper, a 2-DOF translational parallel robot named the Diamond robot is used as the basis of case packer for rapid case packing. After overcoming the bottleneck, other machines are put together to form packaging line. An economical and efficient way of packaging line's layout is proposed. The result of reformation work shows the number of workers is reduced from 15 to 3. The working intensity is lower but the quality of products is higher. With the flexibility of robot and the configuration of the packing line, the proposed system can be used for the packaging of various kinds of product.
