The physician’s needs versus the system features in the design of an effective Knowledge Based System

Computer applications are more and more spreading in the doctor’s environment, but remain limited to minor tasks in his professional activities, such as accounting, agenda management or data processing in complex instruments. In other fields, as in the industrial environment for example, Information Systems (IS) aim at a full support of the information flows within the structure; methodologies for the analysis and the design of such ISs were developed, to model at the same time both informational and organizational features of the structure.
