Temperature dependence of viscosity

AbstractA correction to the simple exponential temperature dependence of viscosity arises because of a difference between the real and ideal conditions for a viscous fluid flow. This correction is similar to those to pressure and volume in the real gas law. As a result, the expression for viscosity takes the form $$\eta = \eta _0 \exp \left( {\frac{E}{{k(T + T_0 )}}} \right).$$ Literature experimental data for the viscosity of various fluids verify this dependence.
