Starting from an ignition device (1) for a safety system, in particular an airbag or a belt tightener of a vehicle, having an ignitable via connecting means ignition element (2) which is arranged in a housing (3), and wherein means for EMC protection are present, the invention provides for the avoidance of misfire of the ignition element, that the means for EMC protection are formed as ferrite core (8), wherein the ferrite core (8) is disposed closely adjacent to the ignition element (2).
