Rapidity Distributions and Cluster Formation in 50 GeV/c π-Nucleus Interactions in a Pulsed Magnetic Field

A study of the rapidity distributions of relativistic particles emitted in inelastic interactions of 50 GeV/c π--mesons with nuclei, in nuclear emulsion exposed in a strong pulsed magnetic field reveals that the target fragmentation depends upon the target mass, the projectile fragmentation is mass independent and the pionization region is not well developed. A complete absence of bimodality has been observed while studying the pseudorapidity distribution of produced pions. From the rapidity gap length distribution we find that the two particle short range correlation dominantly inhibit the distribution while the contribution of the long range correlations is small.
