Load torque and inertia simulation based on double-stator permanent-magnet synchronous motor

A novel structure using dual-stator motor is proposed and the corresponding controller is designed. Two stators execute independently based on the method of torque decoupling control, in which one stator is used to simulate the load torque in expectation; the other stator is used to provide inertia moment. In this paper, an adaptive disturbance observer is presented to acquire acceleration information and derives inertia moment to be simulated, in which a simple adaptive scheme is derived using Popov's hyperstability theory. The control performance of the system is analyzed. Simulation and experiment results verify the validity of the theoretical analysis and the feasibility of the method.
