System and method for uplink bandwidth allocation of real-time service in a wireless communication system

An uplink resource allocation system of a real-time service in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to use one burst block allocation IE(Information Element) instead of messages always necessary for allocating resources, thereby reducing a message overhead. A BS(Base Station) groups mobile terminals which need a real-time service into predetermined groups to allocate predetermined burst blocks for each group, and allocates data bursts to the corresponding mobile terminals within the burst blocks(601-613). The mobile terminals decide whether uplink bursts are allocated to themselves, and transmit data to the base station through sub-bursts within the burst blocks allocated to the groups to which the mobile terminals themselves belong(615).
