A soft-switched boost converter for high-frequency operation

A zero-voltage transition boost converter using zero-voltage switching auxiliary switches is proposed. The operating principle and various operating intervals of the converter are presented and analyzed. Design considerations are discussed and a design example of a 300 W, 250 kHz, 300 V output, DC-to-DC boost converter is presented with experimental results. Results clearly show the efficient high frequency operation.
