New Computer Model of a Dipolar System with Hexagonal Geometry in Presence of an External Electric Field

We present a Monte Carlo – Metropolis computer simulation study of the equilibrium configuratio ns in an hexagonal lattice model of anisotropically polarisable particles. In the presence of an external field the spins polarize and couple via dipolar interactions. We found that the dipolar interactions induce a new and unexpected orientational order, characterized by a depressed value of the orientational order parameter so confirming the results already identified in similar analyses carried, however, on a more elementary cubic lattice organization.
