Surface Functionalization for Protein Microarray

This paper presents an attempt to use two substrate types silicon and glass for microarray technique, in order to find the best chemistry surface for immobilization of proteins in microarray technology. Different chemical substrate were studied (glass slides and silicon slides coated with gold and poly-L-lysine) printed with BSA and marked with CY3. The slides were printed and after that washed with PBS (pH=7.4) 20, 40 and 60 minutes. The intensity of the fluorescent signal of the spots before and after washing was analyzed using Gene TAC Analyser (Genomic Solutions) and the UV spectra of the washing residues were recorded.
