Notice of RetractionStability bearing capacity analyses and design suggestions on cold-formed thin-walled purlins under wind uplift load

Stability bearing capacity analyses of cold-formed purlins with conventional specification and span are performed under wind uplift load. The analyses are performed on the stability bearing capacity of C- and Z-shaped simply supported purlins. The comparison indicate that the formulas of specification are considered to be conservative between results of finite element method and that of design formulas in Technical specification for steel structure of light-weight buildings with gabled frames CECS 102:2002. Based on the analysis, applicable design formula and method for simply supported purlins are suggested.
