Optimal Planning on Gate System of Container Yard Based on Simulation Optimization Method

A simulation optimization method was proposed to realize the optimal planning on the gate system on container yard. The formulation of mathematical programming model was established. The optimal objective was to minimize the total cost of construction and ensure the desired operation efficiency. Considering the uncertain and stochastic activities in the system, the discrete-event system simulation model was built. To solve the planning problem, the simulation optimization method that combined heuristic algorithm with the simulation model was proposed. An actual case was analyzed, and the sensitivity of this planning result was also analyzed.
