First, the uniqueness between the two classical dynamic balancing methods of flexible rotors, the Influence Coefficients Method (ICM) and Mode Balancing Method (MBM), was proved using the TF (transfer function). The analytical relationship between the influence coefficients matrix and TF matrix was established. Secondly, the sensitivity analysis technique was applied to the analysis of eigenvector sensitivity in the dynamic balancing procedure of high speed rotors. From the above results a criterion for choosing the appropriate balancing sections was deduced. Finally, a new dynamic balancing method basing on TF, named TFT (Transfer Function Technique), was proposed in this paper. It is showed by many tests that, TFT is a kind of efficient, simple and promising method for flexible rotor dynamic balancing.
