Séquelles à l'âge adulte des pathologies respiratoires néonatales

Les pathologies respiratoires neonatales a l'origine de sequelles durables sont essentiellement les detresses respiratoires compliquees de dysplasie bronchopulmonaire, et certaines malformations congenitales comme la hernie diaphragmatique ou l'atresie de l'oesophage. Les progres de la reanimation neonatale ont largement modifie le terme de la naissance et la survie. A distance, il peut persister une morbidite respiratoire, des lesions bronchopulmonaires et des sequelles fonctionnelles. A l'âge adulte, ces situations pourraient constituer un facteur de risque de bronchopneumopathie chronique obstructive (BPCO). Ces patients constituent pour le pneumologue une population nouvelle a surveiller et, le cas echeant, a traiter.
