Fair scheduling for guaranteed services on personal area networks

To provide personal area network services with differentiated QoS, a /spl lambda/WFQ scheduling discipline, based on the WFQ mechanism and LaGrange /spl lambda/-calculus was developed. The air resources are allocated using /spl lambda/-calculus and the WFQ mechanism is then responsible for the transmission scheduling. This discipline can generate a fair schedule for a mix of video, voice and data traffic with diverse QoS requirements in a limited radio spectrum. The simulation results show that as much as a 2.5% improvement in the mean acceptance rate is obtained relative to the other existing schemes.
