Transaction Processing in the RODAIN Real-Time Database System

Databases will have a dominant role in future telecommunication services. Databases will hold the information needed in operations and management of telecommunication services and networks. The performance, reliability, and availability requirements of data access operations are hard. Thousands of retrievals must be executed in a second. The allowed down-time is only a few seconds in a year.
