A CPW-Fed L-Shaped Slot Planar Monopole Antenna for Triple-Band Operations

In this paper, two L-shaped slots are introduced in order to obtain triple-band operation with a planar monopole antenna fed by a 50Ω coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line. Prototypes of the proposed antenna with sufficient bandwidths in the 0.9-, 1.8-, and 2.15-GHz bands for GSM, DCS/PCS, and IMT-2000 systems, respectively, have been constructed and tested. Details of the experimental results are presented and discussed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
