Modular Multilevel Converter Based HVDC System Efficiency Evaluation Using Analytical Method

Modular Multilevel Converter The features, such as control and flexibility of Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) have made it as a strong choice for the conventional Voltage Source Converters (VSCs). The significance of losses estimation during the design process forces researchers to propose the methods of losses estimation which give accurate results. In this paper an analytical technique has been proposed to evaluate the power losses in half bridge sub module topology. To validate the calculation, a case is considered with certain parameters to develop a MATLAB code to analyze the derived equations. At the end investigation is done on the results.
