Improved Rolling-Mill Automation by Means of Advanced Control Techniques and Process Models

Abstract This paper describes the application of advanced control strategies and process models to hot-strip mills. Both controlled system structures and control functions are explained. Finally, improvements resulting from the application of the described methods are shown.
