Endogenous Power Assignment and Power Disparity

The importance of power in social and organizational relationships has long been recognized. Yet, the research on power does not provide a univocal definition or presents consistent findings with regard to the level of power disparity and merit based assignment of power. Using Newtonian laws, this paper conceptualizes power simultaneously as a relational capacity, behaviors attached to this capacity, and realization of power in the form of influence. We extend the formal design perspective, and allow for informal power structures and evolutionary dynamics. we employ the
