Arteriography in the diagnosis of large bowel bleeding.

Acute bleeding from the large bowel may become complicated when the colon is filled by blood or in cases of recurrent bleeding caused by an obscure lesion. Five cases of large bowel bleeding caused by various pathological processes are presented, illustrating the usefulness of selective arteriography in elucidating the site of bleeding and the nature of the underlying pathology. Diagnostic and therapeutic considerations are offered.
