Solid-solution range of LiNbO3

Abstract The solid solution range of LiNbO 3 has been examined for temperatures below 1000 °C. The experiments indicate that LiNbO 3 grown at the congruently melting composition (48.6 mol% Li 2 O) decomposes into LiNbO 3 and LiNb 3 O 8 at temperatures below 910 °C.
