A computer controlled film scanner

A fully automatic scanner has been constructed to evaluate photographic film. It has been used to determine reflection coordinates and integrated intensities of X-ray single crystal films. The data on a Weissenberg film are available for analysis by the computer in approximately 16 minutes. The scanning speed is independent of the amount of information on the film. The accuracy in the intensity measurement appears quite sufficient for most crystallographic applications.
