Synthesis of multilevel bidirectional converters with switched capacitors

The method of structural synthesis for multilevel bidirectional converters connecting DC and (or) AC voltage networks without the standard network transformer is offered. Such the converters are based on the concept of the controllable periodic seriesparallel switching of capacitors and by means of transistors allow connecting capacitors either in series to a high-voltage network, or in parallel to a low-voltage network. The new circuits of the converters of all the basic classes, i.e. DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC, and AC-AC are created. Such the converters are intended for the new generation of the AC and the HVDC voltage electric locomotives, the big difference of voltages of the mains and the machine adjustable electric drive, and battery storages of electric energy.
