Requirements for Modeling Trust in Ubiquitous Computing and Ad Hoc Networks

Trust is an important aspect of security, which is often taken for granted. Security solutions usually lack a clear definition of trust. Defining and modeling trust is not simple because trust is generally perceived as some abstract concept, not something that can be treated mathematically. Interpretation of trust can be different in different situations. Having said that, it is possible to construct a trust model for a given environment by following a suitably interpreted definition of trust. One logical step towards modeling trust is to have a set of requirements first. This paper is an attempt to collect requirements for modeling trust in ubiquitous computing and ad hoc networking environment.
