Overall design and key techniques of a large-scale centrifugal shaker in construction

A large scale centrifugal shaker is the most effective testing facility for research on dynamic problems in geotechnical earthquake engineering.There are only two such shaker worldwide nowadays,whereas,no one has been established in China.As the most advanced testing facility,almost every aspect in the building of a large scale centrifugal shaker encounters new challenges.Meanwhile,the construction also faces some new problems.In this paper,the general layout of laboratory and some relevant key technologies of construction were investigated and the scheme of equipment general layout was proposed.The advantages and limitations of different cooling systems in the main set hall were compared and basic requirements and difficulties of foundation design were discussed,which can provide a reference to construction of large-scale centrifugal shakers at home and abroad.
