Multi-verse Optimization Algorithm for Solving Two-Dimensional TSP

Multi-verse optimization (MVO) algorithm is proposed as a new metaheuristic optimization algorithm, which is successfully applied to function optimization and engineering computation, and shows good performance. The Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP) is an NP-complete combinatorial optimization problem of substantial importance in many scheduling applications. In this paper, we use the MVO for solving two-dimensional TSP, and compared with the particle swarm optimization (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA) and Cuckoo Search (CS) Algorithm. The ten test instance results show that the proposed solving two-dimensional TSP algorithm performs better in terms of convergence rate and solution quality.
