Multi-element fiber technology for high-capacity optical communication systems

Multi-element fiber technology is presented as an alternative approach to high capacity communication systems based on spatial division multiplexing. This talk discusses the advantages and potential drawbacks of this technology with respect to multicore and multimode approaches.
