Dynamic Study of an Extreme System Reactive Power Deficit

The dynamic study described in this paper shows that relatively simple and inexpensive procedures are available that can effectively control a system reactive power deficit. By combining these procedures hierarchically, an automatic system protection is possible to enhance power system security against one of the most serious causes of breakdown.
