A new subcarrier oriented handover scheme in downlink OFDMA cellular systems

In conventional handover schemes, a user's signal strength is measured and averaged through whole signal band- width, and handover is performed based on it. However, to be an efficient handover scheme in OFDMA systems, signal strengths of subcarriers should be considered separately. That is, each sub- carrier has a different handover position which is the place a han- dover occurs. Therefore the subcarrier oriented handover scheme is proposed. The proposed handover scheme can improve SIR per- formance of handover users.
