To study whether vibration compaction on concrete bridge decks can cause damage to a bridge structure, based on the theory of vibration modal, the paper analyzed dynamic vibration modal and damping of common types of bridges. The analysis using dynamic vibration theory calculated the top four orders vibration modal and corresponding frequency of a common bridge and compared them with the frequency of a vibratory roller. The results showed that the fundamental frequency of the common bridge types first-order vibration modal was between 5&–7 Hz (Zhao et al. 2008), while the frequency of a vibratory roller is 30 Hz. Usually, the top 30 orders of frequency of the common bridge can’t reach the frequency of the vibratory roller. As a result, the probability of roller vibration damaging the overall bridge is small. Vibrating rollers can be used on the deck pavement compaction.
