Forum Acusticum was one of the big world conferences on noise and acoustics held in 2005. The conference took place in Budapest in Hungary from August 30th to September 2nd.There were around 550 presentations and 1000 participants covering a great variety of acoustic subjects including sessions on different aspects of road traffic noise.Three people from the Danish Road Directorate/Danish Road Institute (DRI) participated, giving four presentations on noise reducing pavements as well as on cost benefit analyses and noise planning. These presentations have been produced as a part of the co-operation between the Danish Road Institute and Road and Hydraulic Engineering Institute in the Netherlands (DWW) called the DRI-DWW noise abatement programme [1] which is a part of the Dutch Noise Innovation Program on Road Traffic (the IPG programme) [2].The con-tents of the four presentations can be found on the DRI homepage (www.roadinstitute.dk).This note is a "travelling report" from the Forum Acusticum conference where some short introductions and comments on the presentations that are found interesting in relation to the DRI-DWW noise abatement programme are given. The full papers can be found on the CD-ROM with the conference proceedings [3].
