The invention discloses a method of determining a mobile equipment position and an apparatus. The method comprises the following steps of analyzing a conversation data record of mobile equipment so as to determine a first cell where the mobile equipment stays once and time for the mobile equipment to move to a second cell from the first cell; based on a moving speed and the time of the mobile equipment, determining a probability density of the mobile equipment located at each position in the first cell; according to the probability density, determining a possible position where the mobile equipment is located in the first cell. By using the method and the apparatus, the position of the mobile equipment can be accurately determined.
