Analysis on the Laser Nonlinear Distortion in Subcarrier Multiplexing Analog Lightwave Transmission Systems

This paper deals with the analysis of laser non-linear distortion in sub carrier multiplexing analogue light wave transmission systems. A complete mathematics model for the laser non-linear distortion analysis is presented which particularly takes into account the laser clipping effect in the multiple sub-carriers case. The previous work published by Qun Shi et. al. has been checked and modified to include the contribution of higher order distortion of laser output to CSO and CTB formula of the transmission system. Finally the theoretic results is confirmed by the experiment of CSO and CTB measurements in a multi-channel optical fibre CAT link.
