Quantized feedback control of networked control systems

This paper addresses the feedback control problem of Network Control Systems, which arises in the coding of plant states between controllers and systems where feedback loops are closed using bandwidth limited communication channels. A method, which reduces data packet dropout rate and signal transmission delay, is proposed, based on modern communication theory. A necessary and sufficient condition for the stabilization is derived and a lower bound of data rates over communication channels is given, above which there exists a coding, quantization and control scheme to stabilize control systems. The proof techniques are mainly based on Information Theory.
