The Italian Q/V-band Experimental Mission on the ESA Alphasat: an Update

[Abstract] The paper, after briefly summarising the objectives of ASI “Q/V-band Project” and the architecture / technology of the Alphasat Q/V-band mission, illustrates the latest results of the on-going mission definition activities performed within the on-going Phase-B0 study which, by the full paper submission deadline, is almost to be completed in support to the preparation of the following Phase B/C/D/E1. The paper embraces the main program issues such as communications techniques, payload design, ground segment design, technologies, planning aspects, experimental plan and mission objectives from the scientific & applications viewpoints.
