The design of 2K×2K high performance CCD camera for astronomical imaging

This paper describes the design of high performance 2K times 2K CCD camera that is part of the Halpha imaging system to be used in Space Solar Telescope. The camera is composed of analog system and the digital embedded system integrated with a NIOSII soft-core processor. Performance evaluation results of the camera are also shown in this paper. In addition, experimental observations of solar phenomena using this CCD camera were carried out with Halpha solar telescope in Huairou Solar Observation Station, Chinese Academy of Science. Solar flare and sunspot were successfully observed. Test observation results show a favorable aspect of this high performance CCD camera in high temporal resolution astronomical imaging.
