Chaordic systems thinking: chaos and complexity to explain human performance management

This conceptual contribution is about a new framework for explaining human performance management under turbulent conditions, which was based on the Chaos lens. The following general concepts are described: Discontinuous growth curve, attractors and their basins, holons and holonic development, dialogue, sustainable work systems, organisational novelty, the chaordic properties of consciousness, connectivity, indeterminacy, dissipation and emergence, orienteering and path finding, individual and organisational mind, Wilber’s quadrants, and holonic potential. The paper concludes with some statements for the plenary session of “Business Excellence ‘03”. For some applications, see [68] [69] [70].
