Design Study on Digital Image Detection System of Longitudinal Tearing for Belt Conveyor

A belt conveyor is an important transportation equipment in mine production and a longitudinal tearing accident could cause a great economic lost to the mine.A digital image automatic distinguishing system was designed.With the CCD camera,the on time image and the converted digital image signals of the belt conveyor would be transmitted to the computer.According to the features of the belt tearing images,the difference between each image,the liner point calculation,the medium filter wave,boundary detection and threshold segmentation of the Otsu algorithm were conducted on the images.Base on the crack features,a suitable crack distinguishing algorithm was designed.The experiments showed that the system could have excellent real time and robustness.
