There are issues preventing effective assessment of an enterprise's knowledge capability. To resolve them, the nature of enterprise knowledge capability was analyzed and the standard evaluation index system was designed. Grey and fuzzy assessment for evaluating enterprise knowledge capability was established and it was verified by an empirical case. Three main assessment dimensions were proposed, namely fundamental resource capability, operating knowledge capability and knowledge mechanism. An evaluation system involving 14 indexes was designed. These were the foundations for the evaluation model based on grey and fuzzy evaluation model. Grey and fuzzy evaluation model can not only determine the comprehensive level of enterprise's knowledge capability, but also show advantage and difference of enterprise's knowledge capability from different dimension.
