Optimal Design of Remotely Operated Weapon Station Structure

The static and dynamics structural characteristics of remotely operated weapon station(ROWS) are analyzed based on the fourth intensity theory and modal analysis theory. The stress and strain of the bracket under shooting load of weapons is obtained. The structure of the bracket is redesigned to reduce the weight, which leads to a reduction of 54 percent of weight and 51 percent of moment of inertia.Modal analysis of the system is carried out.The fundamental vibration frequency of the system is 156.71Hz,which means that there is no danger of resonance on condition of firing.
