곡선부 레일의 마모 및 소음저감을 위한 코팅레일의 개발

The goal of this Paper is to prevent rail's wear and to reduce squeal noise in curves by applying an additional surface layer material(High hardness and High resistance capacity of wear) on the top of the railhead, resulting in a coated rail. The contact load, driving distance, coating hardness, material properties of the coating and the rail material are used to calculate the abrasion wear equation (Holm, Achard, etc), which is then used to predict the wearing performance of the coated rail system. The presented paper will detail the above proposed work as well as the work on sand rubber disc abrasion testing (ASTM, G65, Procedure A) and metallurgical research completed to date. The development of the rail surface layer application methods that are used and the further objectives of the coated rail project will also be discussed.
