Performance Evaluation of LT Codes for Wireless Body Area Network

In recent years the wireless body area network (WBAN) technology has appeared as a subcategory of wireless sensor network (WSN) to facilitate and improve the quality of medical care. The reliability of transmissions and energy efficiency in WBAN are studied in this paper by using the Luby Transform (LT) code as an effective solution, for this we propose to evaluate its performances and adapt it according to the constraints imposed by WBAN. The validation results show that this code has not only the best performance but also the best energy efficiency.
