This chapter provides a summary of the work performed, including a briefly description of the scope, motivation, and work performed. Then, the obtained conclusions are presented and described, paying special attention to the impact of demand response (DR) and energy storage system (ESS) on the considered joint distribution and generation expansion planning. This chapter demonstrates how DR and/or ESS can contribute to adequately accommodate renewable generation in a joint distribution and generation expansion planning problem, increasing the volume of RES penetration in the distribution network.
