Statistical characterization of forward looking infra-red, laser radar and synthetic aperture radar imagery

This paper presents detailed descriptions of forward-looking infra-red, laser radar and some types of synthetic aperture radar data. References to selected work on feature extraction and segmentation of images acquired by these sensors are also provided. The concepts presented in this report should be useful to researchers in image understanding in developing optimal and robust algorithms.
