The interactive effect of chronic exposure to noise and job complexity on changes in blood pressure and job satisfaction: a longitudinal study of industrial employees.

The hypothesi os f thi s study was tha t nois exposure e leve anld job complexit interacy tto affectchanges in blood pressur (BPe ) level ans d job satisfactio oven 2-r 4 year osf follow-up Result. sshowed that among worker exposes tod high noise, thos e with comple jobx s showed increase insBP that were more than double show bny those with simple jobs . Under low noise exposure, therewas a small increase in BP for workers wit compleh jobx s but about a 3-fold increas ien workerswith simpl jobse Th. prevalence o elevatefe BdP showe ad simila trendr Jo. satisfactiob nincreased among workers wit compleh jobx s but wa mucs h les isn those exposed to high noise. It was concluded that exposur toe occupationa l nois e has a greater negative impact on changes inBP and jo satisfactiob n ove thosr tim performinee amon complegg jobsx I. n contrast job, complexity had clea a r beneficia effecl fot workerr s expose to lod w noise .
