In this paper, the characteristics of the fault current in power distribution system with the Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) on the bus-tie SFCL was analyzed. It could be applied in the various application locations of the SFCL where the second side winding of the main transformer, out going point of the feeder or bus-tie and its effects to limit the fault current and to change the protection relay were analyzed. However, to apply the SFCL in the power system practically, its characteristic to reduce the fault current was required. Therefore in this paper, we analyzed the performance characteristics of the resistive type SFCL on various locations in a power distribution system considering the fault cases through the short circuit experiments.
