The invention discloses an intelligent plug-in single-cylinder hybrid electric vehicle and a control method thereof. A motor linkage gearbox assembly and an engine are arranged in a front cabin of a vehicle body system, a speed changer is provided with two sets of power input interfaces which are connected with a motor and the engine respectively, and two sets of power output interfaces of the speed changer are connected with two sets of joint transmission shafts respectively. The joint transmission shafts are in transmission connection with front driving wheels. A power battery pack and a fuel tank are arranged in a rear cabin of the vehicle body system. An entire vehicle control unit is arranged at the front end of a cab of the vehicle body system. A plurality of sets of sensors are arranged at the signal input end of the entire vehicle control unit, the sensors comprise sensors which are arranged on the motor, the engine, the power battery pack, a front driving system and a rear driving system respectively to be used for collecting vehicle operating parameters, and the signal output end of the entire vehicle control unit is both connected with a motor controller and an engine controller which conduct communication control over the motor and the engine respectively. A man-machine interaction touch screen is further arranged on the entire vehicle control unit. The intelligent plug-in single-cylinder hybrid electric vehicle has the advantages of being environmentally friendly, efficient, saving in energy, and long in continuation line range.
