provide a set of collaboration-oriented services for distributed Data management to IDN-compliant applications. InterDataNet (IDN) is a project within the Web of Data which can improve the Semantic Web. IDN infrastructural solution can boost the Semantic Web vision by providing a way of achieving the collaborative creation of shared information (Web of Data) and conceptualization (Semantic Web). IDN proposes itself as a pretty general interdataworking facility which can boost the Semantic Web vision. IDN design pattern is intended to manage both ontologies and their instances as IDN-IM-compliant documents and formally encoded by the architecture in much the same way. As a consequence of being handled by the IDN-SA services, the ontologies thus become globally addressable and reusable; moreover they can benefit of the collaboration oriented IDN-SA functions (versioning, traceability, replicability, etc.). IDN hence proposes itself to act as an interoperability application-independent middleware, supporting data units management to enhance interoperation and ground semantic data use. IDN approach shifts the provision of collaboration-related functions on elementary information from the application level to an infrastructural level. The wide adoption of IDN middleware can add to Internet solutions the capability of providing interdataworking, which would allow interoperability between semantic data, that is ontological structures. IDN, like the Semantic Web, is grounded on the use of URIs to globally address concepts and resources. The three layers naming system adopted in IDN can effectively manage the problem of open and shared addressability of the ontological concepts in order to enable the emergence of a common ground for semantic data description. Such a hypothesis is sustained by the closeness between the representation of a Semantic Web ontology usually expressed in OWL-DL (and its RDF serialization) and the IDN-Information Model (structured as DAG). In other words, IDN is an infrastructural solution which can boost the Semantic Web vision by providing a way of achieving the collaborative creation of shared information (Web of Data) and conceptualization (Semantic Web). IDN proposes itself as a pretty general interdataworking facility which can boost the Semantic Web vision.
