The Research of Adaptive Protection in Micro-grid

The traditional overcurrent protection's setting value is computed by a fixed value,and is influenced by the operating modes and fault type.So the protection range is not fixed and not suitable for micro-grid.Typical fault characteristics is first analyzed,and combines the rapid development of information and communication technology,aimed at improving traditional overcurrent protection by real-time computing impedance and fault types and without the effects of the operating modes and fault types.PSCAD simulation proves that the method can adapt to the change of operating modes and fault type and improve the protection performance.
